About Eastman Chemical Singapore Pte Ltd
Eastman Chemical manufactures and markets more than 1,200 chemicals, fibres and plastic products. It is one of the world's largest producers of PET polymers for packaging. Eastman hires 10,500 employees in 23 countries. Its Jurong plant has 90 workers across the various operations.
With implementation of work-life strategies, the company has seen a dramatic cut in staff turnover from 19 percent in 2006 to 8 percent in 2007. About half of the staff have been with the company for ten years and more. Overall, they have indicated a high level of satisfaction with the company. Eastman Chemical Singapore was awarded the Work-Life Achiever Award 2008.

Eastman has implemented compressed working hours for day staff and 7 consecutive off days for shift employees. Office employees who work an extra hour a day during the first two weeks of the month enjoy an extra off day each month. The programme has been adopted by 100 percent of day staff. Eastman has had good feedback on this scheme as the employees appreciate the consecutive days off to spend time with their families and plan for vacations. |

| Employee Support Schemes - Lunch on the Company |

Eastman regularly subsidises lunch on Fridays for all employees. This is a good opportunity for bonding with all levels of staff. Good rapport and camaraderie are observed at such Friday lunch get-togethers.
Eastman also organises regular health screenings, jogging and brisk walking. Staff are also encouraged to propose and join a variety of interest groups like cycling, bowling, soccer and badminton. To bond with families, there are regular Family Days and Movies with Families.
