Job Sharing

Enhancements

Future developments
Some examples an organisation can consider when evaluating
the telecommuting programme include

  • The possibility of having more employees participate in the programme
  • Coupling the current programme with other flexible work arrangements to be more cost effective
  • Possible funding from the government to expand the current programme or to conduct a new programme*
  • Assessing how the organisation fares on Work‐life Harmony and identifying areas for improvement**

MOM WoW! Fund*

Organisations can refer to the Ministry of Manpower’s WoW! Fund in which the government will co‐fund costs incurred for approved projects up to a maximum of $20,000 per project per organisation. More information is available here.

WDA Advantage! Scheme

In addition, if the organisation’s main aim is to retain, recruit or re‐employ mature employees, it can consider applying for the Singapore Workforce Development Agency
(WDA)’s ADVANTAGE! Scheme
(http://app2.wda.gov.sg/web/Contents/Contents.aspx?Id=72).
It is opened to all companies registered or based in Singapore and offers a grant of up to $400,000.

Flexi Works! Scheme

Organisations can also apply for the Flexi Works! Scheme (http://www.ntuc.org.sg/).
Flexi‐Works! is a new initiative by WDA and the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) for
companies to hire new workers on part‐time or flexible work arrangements. The scheme offers a grant of up to $100,000 to support a company’s efforts in the recruitment of workers on part‐time or flexible work arrangements.
